Okay, the following items are fixed:-Emoticons now work when you click on the graphics to the left.
** if you use the javascript/mouse method, it always puts them at the end of your message. If you need to go back and put one in, you'll have to type it.
-You should no longer get an error when editing a message. (please note that you have to be logged in when posting AND when editing or it won't work)STILL RESEARCHING: Amy's problem with being a perpetual guest.
Please post just a description of the problem, once, in this thread. Use other threads for testing. Thanks.

hello Degan I find that I am able to vote as many times as I want on any of the polls. Just tried it out again on one of them this morning to see if this position was the same and another vote was accepted on the same poll. I wouldn't abuse the system, but obviously if this is the case then someone could.

Victoria, I'll look into it, but for now you may just have to trust each other not to spam the polls. *g*edited to note: in the Polls section there was some testing, and it appears only one poll has this problem. Its likely that it was created when we were still ironing out some of the installation issues.

I keep on getting a timeout error. It tells me there is a syntax error on Line 28 and my computer wants to know if I want to debug the system. My problem... I don't have a clue what it is talking about. Also, I need to change my email address -- how do I edit my profile?

1. You can edit your profile by selecting 'User Menu' and then 'Profile' 2. I've updated the board settings to allow you to change your name and email address; you can not change your username.
3. If you're having trouble logging in, leave the board, delete your cookies and temporary internet files, and log in again. If you continue having a problem you may need to put dianapalmer.com into your 'approved sites' in your security settings in your browser or virus/firewall. Some security programs won't let you run scripts without special measures.
4. I've also updated the board settings not to reject addresses from several 'free' domains.

Hi Degan, I'm going to sound very stupid but have been trying to use the smiley icons but with no luck. Have tried by left clicking on one of these therefore copying and then pasting it to my message but with no success. Bottom left of screen says " smiley and the no. of the smiley". Book lovers never go to bed alone. - UnknownI've notice a problem, now that page 1 of the Poll board is filled ...the newest polls are going to page 2..unfortunately alot of people don't even notice a page 2 and think the only ones is on the page1..so my question is..can you make it so that the newest posts automatically stays on pg 1 and older ones pushed to page 2 instead....

No, it is up to the user to determine if they want to sort by date. They can click on the date column to sort and it will stay that way the next time they come into the forum.

Hello, we have an ongoing subject on the chit chat board that has raised a few worries, it's under members using more that one username (or something similar!!)
We have just realised that somebody can post and use other people's usernames, yes it comes up as being an unregistered post but a lot of members don't always register so we expect to see a few pop up now and again from those people!!
I know that this is a trust issue more than anything but it is also a worry that somebody could take advantage of this, can anything be done so that only the original member can only use their own username, ie. you try to post using the same name somebody else has and it is rejected as being a name already taken or used.Butterfly

The board can be restricted so that guests can't post at all, if that is what Diane or the administrator wants to do. Is this a significant problem> Are the people just making an innocent mistake or causing mischief? If someone causes problems I can easily see if they are the same person and take other actions, but will need someone to steer me to the posts in question.

Hi, make sure that your caps lock isn't on -- the login is case-sensitive. If you are sure you have it set properly, then try having your password emailed to you, just to be sure the board sees it the same way you do. If you continue to have trouble, please privately email me with your login and password and I'll try it out.
Also, if you have any virus or popup blockers, you might need to try disabling those, one at a time, to see if something is conflicting.
