1. Who's story is the June 1st release titled Heartless
HEARTLESS is the story of Jason Pendleton and his stepsister Gracie, who
were featured in FEARLESS. They are the stepsiblings of Gloryanne, who
married Rodrigo Ramirez. Gracie is sailing along with Jason, with no thought
of marriage or complications when Jason discovers a change in his feelings.
Gracie, frightened, retreats and Jason finds himself involved with a New
York socialite to whom he becomes engaged. Gracie's entire life is thrown
upside down and she is forced by the woman, who is not what she seems to
Jason, to leave her home and get a job for the first time in her life. She
is kidnapped by an expatriate South American dictator for ransom, but things
become more complicated than ever when Jason puts up the money to rescue
her. She is forced to face a shadowy past that Jason doesn't even know
about, and come to terms with her own fears of relationships and all that
they entail. A very tender love story with lots of humor and cameos from old
and new residents of Jacobsville, Texas, where the story is set.


2. Are you going to ever write a story about Bojo
I will someday do a book on Bojo. I am waiting, as Captain Jack Sparrow would say, for the "opportune moment

3. Many people asked when will Harley get a story. They said they hope he starts shouting at you soon

Harley has indeed shouted at me, and I am on chapter three of his story now.
He gets mixed up with an old friend - Alice Mayfield Jones, who tried to do
a post-mortem on the Thanksgiving dinner turkey in BEFORE SUNRISE. They don't
meet so much as they collide, head-on!



4. A lot of people asked about the sequel's to The Morcai Battalion. Everyone is anxious to read the follow up stories

I am going to put out the sequel in an e-book edition this December, one way
or another - the company may do it, or I may. It will be under my own name,
as the original was(Susan Kyle), and in the second book, Madeline Ruszel has
to treat an important member of the Centaurian Dectat who hates her guts and
then has to step back and let her lead his men on an attack on a Rojok
position(because Holconcom always leads, and she's the only active serving
member in the bunch!) This is a riot. Centaurian women aren't allowed in the
military, and even the emperor is furious at Dtimun for putting Madeline
aboard the Morcai. Also. Chacon, the Rojok Commander-in-Chief and the
Princess Lyceria find a way to meet. In this book, Dtimun and Madeline have
to find a way to infiltrate the notorious Benaski Port to warn Chacon of an
attempt on his life.


5. Will Duke Wright get a book
Duke Wright is down the line a bit. I like him, but I'm up to my ears in gorgeous men to write about

6. Will the Hart's cousin Colton get a book
The Hart's cousin Colter will definitely get a book.



7. Will you write more historical in the future and will Alan Culhane ever get a story

I would love to do more historical novels, but I'm too booked-up with contemporaries right now to think about them for a while.


8. Who was your inspiration for the Character of Cash Grier

Cash jumped up in the middle of THE TEXAS RANGER and refused to sit down. I have no idea at all where he came from, but he is one of the most obnoxious men I have ever met. He's still hanging around my office even now, barging into other peoples' books at an alarming rate. I didn't plan to write about him at all. He just grew out of the book. Honestly, I don't know anybody like him and never have.


9. When will you write about the next Grier brother/brothers

The other Griers are also, like Duke, down the line in the story mill.



10. Will Coulter Banks get a story
Colter will get a story

11. Will Alice Jones get a story
Alice Jones is Harley's love interest!



12. Will Duke Wright get a story

Duke will get a book

13. Will Kilraven get a story
Kilraven is the 2010 hardcover along with Winnie Sinclair

14. Will Hayes get a book
Hayes Carson is about four or five books away

15. Will there ever be a book on Donald Treymane
No. Sorry

16. Will there ever be a book on the Children of any of your past main characters

Now that's a very good question. In fact, I'm working on a plot for King
Brannt's daughter, who leaves home because daddy's money is attracting
greedy men who don't really want her. She goes to work for an ugly but
charming cattleman who thinks she's just a ranch hand. And then the fun
begins. Hoping to do this one next year or the year after.


17. One member asked: Is Christmas your favorite time of year? I was trying to get in the Christmas mood with a story and suddenly realized you did quite a number of books set around Christmas time. Well, I'm glad you did because it has helped get me in the spirit of things.

I am like a child about Christmas. I start planning the lights for my yard
in September. I buy presents in August. I buy ornaments in August. I grit my
teeth trying to wait until Thanksgiving to put up my tree. I light all the
lights then, too, at the same time they light the Great Tree at Rich's(now
Macy's) in Atlanta. That ceremony began the year I was born and will I hope,
continue after I die. It's an Atlanta tradition. I am also a kid about snow,
but we don't get much down here in Georgia anymore.


18. Will John Blackhawk get a book?
Oh, yes, Jon Blackhawk will get a story! He's the 2011 hardcover, and his
book and his half-brother Kilraven's books will be linked.


19. Will Marquez get a story
Poor old Marquez. Oh, yes, he will have to have a book of his own.

Hope you all have a safe and happy Valentine's Day. I will be working
furiously on Harley right through it. Look for DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH(the
story of John Callister of Medicine Ridge- Gil's brother) this spring.

hhhmmmm....where can we find a time travel machine? Jump forward and read this wonderful books and then come back and grin like the Cheshire Cat......

But, this is great....have to mark my calendar and start counting the days! LOL

fist of all a VERY BIG THANK YOU to Susan for taking the time to answer all our questions as I know she has been very poorly.

I have a HUGE grin on my face I cant wait for all these fantastic books to come out I know we will all be waiting with batted breath for them to come out.

For myself I am sooo glad Harley has finally shouted down Susans ear I just cant wait.

And my day is suddenly much brighter. My smile is wide at the moment!!

It's not often I want to get older faster, but I can't wait for these books to be published !

I can't believe Susan took the time to answer all those questions. How wonderful for us that she did it. And, I loved the way she chose to do it. A bunch of questions and answers that made me smile. It totally made my day.

I have been waiting (and praying) that Harley would get his own book. I guess Susan just gave me my birthday present with her answer!!!!

Now, I can't wait for it to come out. When he first appeared in a book, he seemed sooooo young and not quite "grown" into himself, but as he appeared in other books, it seemed like he matured and came into himself. I certainly can see him now as a "LONG TALL TEXAN"!!!!

This is one book I will get the minute it comes out!!!

Am I the only one who thinks Harley matured as he appeared in more books????
