"RedBird Ending"

I am not sure how much of the ending is missing in the abduction and seduction version compared to the ending in the Lone Star Christmas version. I am going to post the whole Epilogue.

EPILOGUE

As their first Christmas together approached, Han worried over what sort of present to give his bride. She was enjoying her brand-new veterinary hospital, which took up a lot of her time. hank had been in Wyoming, working on a new album with the group Desperado, his own band, for two weeks. The time had stretched painfully, although he'd phoned Poppy every night. She sounded cheerful, but very tired, and when he got home, he noticed that she had dark circles under her pretty eyes.
"You have to take on a partner," he told her as they lay together curled up in the big king-sized bed, "you can't keep on at this pace. You'll drop in your tracks."
"I know." She snuggled closer, smiling. "It's nice to have you back home. How did the recording session go?'
"Very well," he murmured drowsily. "We did fourteen tracks in all, and ten of them are new. I think it's going to work out better than anything we've done before." He rolled over and looked down at her with pure possession.
"I'm glad we've stopped doing live concerts. I don't like being away from you, even long enough to record albums."
"I don't like it, either." She pulled him down to her and kissed him softly. "I missed you."
"I missed you, too." She frowned a little as he touched her. She was always thin, even if well-made, but she seemed to be putting on some weight. "Girl, you're getting wider," he teased. "I like it."
She chuckled "Too many doughnuts at the cafe on my way to the office," she confided. "But I've always been thin. I gain and then I lose it right back, usually." She nuzzled against his broad chest. "I'm so sleepy!"
"Then go to sleep, " he said softly, kissing her forehead. He brushed an enormous hand over her soft hair and frowned. "Poppy, where's Bean?" he asked suddenly, having noticed the absence of a huge stray tomcat she'd taken in just before he left for Wyoming.
"The little girl next door adopted him," she said, smiling to herself. "We have visiting rights, but he gets to sleep with her.
His hand stilled. "But you love pets. I don't mind if you have a cat or a dog, or whatever else suits your fancy. You're a vet. You wouldn't be if you didn't love animals."
"Oh, that's not why I gave up Bean," she confided.
"They why did you?"
"Because I'm not suppose to be exposed to litter boxes for a while."
"Why not?" he lifted his head and looked down at her, "You're not sick or anything?"
She grinned, reaching up to him again with a light in her eyes that made his heart ship. "No I'm not sick, I have a special Christmas present for you."
"Christmas is still two weeks away," he reminded her, 'even if you do have the tree already set up in the living room."
She laughed. " I had to have a tree. You can help me decorate the rest of it in the morning."
"Lucky me," he mused. He searched her eyes. "Are you trying to tell me something?"
She nodded. She drew one of his big hands to her soft belly and pressed it there. "Guess what, Hank?" she whispered.
"She felt his whole body go rigid, saw the curiosity in his dark eyes turn to certainty. She felt the very moment when he realized what she was saying without words.
" A baby!" he exclaimed, breathless.
"A baby," she whispered, joy almost shooting from every nerve beneath her skin. "Our baby. Merry Christmas, my darling."
He was speechless. he gathered her close to him, bent over her with closed eyes and thanked God mentally for all he was worth. He'd never dreamed of a baby. Poppy was the best luck he'd ever had, but a child of his own was an incredible surprise. He hugged her gently and kissed her temples. " A boy, Maybe" he said huskily. "I have five brothers."
She chuckled. "My father was one of three boys and my mother was the only girl among three children. We have excellent chances for a son.
"A little girl would suit me just as well," he murmured contentedly. "She'll have to like football, though, he added. He'd once been a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys and he still followed the team on television.
"We'll take what we get, and be happy with it," she said.
"Indeed we will." He looked down into her soft eyes and shook his head. "I'll never know what I did to deserve you, cupcake," he said sincerely.
"That goes for me, too, Hank." She hugged him tight. "I never dreamed that we'd be so happy, that we'd have so much."
"And we've barely begun, together. I feel exactly the same way. Poppy. It's definitely a time for counting our blessings." He curled her into his arms and smiled with pure joy. It was going to be, he decided, the very best Christmas of his entire life.
And it was.........
