2) Characters:
MATT CALDWELL: - has a deep voice which is gravely and can cut like a knife, has very dark unyielding eyes and dark hair. People say he's a nice, easygoing man who loved to help out any underdogs. He's offered marriage to local girls when he thought it might help them out. He's one of the most hunted bachelors in South Texas. He never seems to get to serious about any one woman but he likes women who are not intimidated by his bad moods.
His mother gave him away when he was six years old because her new boyfriend didn't like kids. Matt went to live with his uncle and cousin Ed, which is why they are so close. Matt never knew who his father was, as there were too many men in his mother's life to say which one got her pregnant. Matt's mother is now dead and he never talks about her ever.
He has a love for cigars but is trying to give them up. So has asked his secretaries to help out, they now each have a water pistol to stop his habit. Matt loves Latin dancing he can Mambo, Rumba and Tango like an expert. He did date a dancing instructor for several months but was a natural when it came to dancing. At the moment Matt is in an on/off relationship with Carolyn Engles his latest trophy girlfriend.LESLIE MURRY: - aged 23. She wasn't pretty. She had a plain rather ordinary face with blonde hair that had a natural wave and grey eyes. Her one good feature besides her slender figure was a pretty bow mouth. She had a quite, almost reclusive demeanour. She had been flamboyant and outgoing, a live wire of a girl whose friends had laughed at her exploits (that was before her life changed) (p7/8). Leslie has a stammer when she gets nerves. Leslie has a limp caused by a shooting incident when she was 17yrs old. The bones had not been set correctly so the injury causes Leslie a lot of pain every now and again.
Her mother is in prison for murdering her boyfriend. She found her boyfriends and his friends about to rape Leslie and went mad and shot him to death but also shot Leslie in the leg at the same time. Leslie's father died when she was young. He misjudged the positioning of some electrical wires and flew his plane into them, he was electrocuted.
Leslie feels she has to keep running and hiding from the press so she can hide what happened to her when she was younger. When she meets Matt she feels he is like a steamroller trying to find out all her secrets. Leslie feels so unsure about Matt he is friendly to everyone but her, when they meet he is always bristle and full of venom.
Leslie has taken lessons in Tae Kwon Do so she can protect herself. Leslie loves to dance all Latin dances, her mum taught her to dance from a young age. Leslie is also allergic to tobacco smoke.3) Storyline: Leslie has come to Jacobsville to hide away from the reporters who keep following her looking for a story about her past. From day one Leslie and Matt rub each other the wrong way. Matt does not like that Leslie is keeping secrets and wants to find out what they are. Leslie tries her best to stay out of Matt's way a try not anger him in any way. After a local dance Leslie injures her leg which later need surgery on to fix a shattered bone which is from a shooting injury when she was 17yrs old. Matt once again becomes angry when no one will tell him how the injury came about. At the same time a reporter comes looking for Leslie so he can do a feature story about the shooting and the love triangle between her, her mother and the died boyfriend. Matt has the reporter run out of town, and then goes to find out what story Leslie is hiding. Once he knows the truth Matt begins to treat Leslie in a new away and slowly their relationship takes a new road. A lov!
e begins to grow and a whole new future for Leslie.4) Back-cover blurb:

5) Children: Matt and Lesley have1 son and 1 daughter - They have a son and then 3 years later they had a daughter both are not named. This information is found on the last page of their book. It does not give you a time scale to go by just that says Leslie's mother has had a new trial and her sentence was shortened. Then 3 years after the birth of their son Leslie gave birth to a daughter and that Leslie's mother was at the daughter's christening. It also says their daughter was born with Matt's dark hair and a temper to match his own.

ED CALDWELL: - Ed is Matt's cousin. The feel more like brother since Matt grow up within Ed's home when his mother left. Leslie knows him from college in Houston; she went to work for his father's law firm. Ed is always there for her if she needs help. Ed has just got Leslie the job as an executive assistant within the Caldwell firm.
BETH: - Matt's mother (deceased). She gave him away when he was six years old because her new boyfriend did not like kids. Matt was raised by Ed's father that is why the two men are so close. Beth did not know who Matt's father was.
EDNA JONES: - Matt's secretary, a handsome women in her forties, blond hair always in a neat bun. She is always armed with a water gun to stop Matt smoking his cigars.
BESSIE DAVID, KARLA SMITH, CONNIE and JACKIE: - secretaries who share the administrative work at Caldwell's
LOU COLTRAIN: - local doctor, she and her husband are both physicians. They have a little boy. (From the book 'Coltrains Proposal' 1995)

MICAH STEELE: - aged 36.
a.He has dark eyes that look black,
b. a square jaw with a chiselled mouth
c. thick short blonde hair which gleams like gold when caught by the sunlight.
d. He rarely smiles (p8).
e. At the moment he is living in the Bahamas.
f. He went to medical school to train to be a doctor but did not finish his residency. He decided medicine wasn't for him. He worked for the Justice department for a couple of years, but now hires himself out to various world governments for covert ops.
g. Micah likes to wear the best in clothing so is often seen in an Armani suit.
h. He likes to drive exotic sports cars at the moment he has a black convertible Porsche.
I. He prefers his women to be sophisticated, street smart and to have no qualms about sex. Even though he feels that way about women, Callie's vulnerability makes him feel very protective towards her.
J.Micah is also hiding that he finds her attractive and has done since she was a young girl. In the past Micah has called Callie
a gold digger like her mother, but uses the words like a shield to keep Callie at a distance from him.
CALLIE KIRBY: - aged 22.
a. Has black hair and pale blue eyes.
b.She has a creamy soft complexion, with a tiny line of freckles across her nose and the faintest of a dimple in her check when she smiles.
c. At the moment she is living in Jacobsville Texas with her step-father Jack Steele (Micah's dad). Callie loves Jack very much as he is the only person to show her love and kindness in her life. d.Callie works for Blake Kemp in his law firm.
e. Callie is a real sucker for a hard-luck story, an easy mark for a con artist.
f. She has a soft heart and is very sensitive.
g. She hates snakes but will go out of her way so not to hurt one. h.Callie does not know that Micah did not finish his residency. She thinks he lives off his trust fund left by his mother, that's who he gets the nice clothes and cars. She only finds out the truth when Micah comes to save her when Lopez kidnaps her.
i. Callie has been in love with Micah since she was young but never thought he would look at her as she think!
j. she is just plain and boring.
3) Storyline:
When Callie Kirby is kidnapped Micah Steele is the only person who can rescue her and keep her alive at the same time. Callie did not know her step-brother was a mercenary until he saves her from the evil hand of her kidnappers. Its not safe for her to return home, so Micah takes her home with him so he can keep her safe. While hiding out at his home, Callie and Micah begin to notice each other in a new light. When the kidnappers strike again Micah knows he must put a stop to them before they kill Callie. Callie and Micah share a night of passion before he sets out on his mission, only for Callie to think it was all a dream the next day. Once the danger has passed Callie returns home leaving Micah behind. Micah soon follows her back to Jacobsville as he has a secret only he can share with her.4) Back-cover blurb:

3.KANE KIRBY: - Callie's dad, black hair with silver at the temples, dark blue eyes. A sombre quit man who feels guilty of his wrong doings in the past. Rejecting Callie when she was a child and not believing she was his child.
4. LOU COLTRAIN: - local doctor, she and her husband are both physicians. (From the book 'Coltrains Proposal' 1995 also in 'Matt Caldwell: Texas Tycoon' 2001)
5. CY PARKS: - local rancher, tall man with green eyes, has burns to his arm and hand. He's friends with Micah and has shared the same profession as a mercenary. (From the book 'The Winter Soldier' 2001 also in 'The Marrying Kind (original title 'Love with a Long, Tall, Texan') - Luke Craig's story'1999, 'Mercenary's Woman' 2000, 'Outsider 2006')
6. EB SCOTT: - Local man whose friends with Micah and has shared the same profession as a mercenary. He now teacher's specialized tactics for covert operations on his ranch. (From the book 'Mercenary's Woman' 2000, 'Desperado' 2003, 'Outsider 2006')
7. LISETTE DUBONNET: - ex-girlfriend of Micah, a extremely jealous women. She's a gorgeous blond, with long legs, a blemish less complexion and perfect teeth. She looks like a supermodel.
8. BLAKE KEMP: - owns a law firm in Jacobsville, Callie works for him. (From the book 'Boss Man' 2005 also in 'Lord of the Desert' 2000)
9. CHET BLAKE: - chief of police in Jacobsville. He has contacts everywhere including relatives in positions of power; one was even a Texas Ranger.
10. RODRIGO: - a tall slender, handsome man, with dark hair and eyes with very graceful movements. He is of Mexican nationality who works undercover for Micah within Lopez's organisation. 11. BOJO: - a mercenary originally from Morocco. He's a small arms expert, who has relatives in most Muslim nations so a great source for information. (No book of his own but been in 'Lord of the Desert' 2000, 'Desperado' 2003)
12. PETER STONE: - a dark haired and eyed young man, new to the group. He's a computer specialist from Brooklyn. He is also a linguist who is able to pass himself of as an Arab or Israeli. (No book of his own but been in 'Renegade' 2005)
13. MADDIE: - member of the mercenary group. She's called the 'Scrounger' anything you need she can get. She looks a lot like Callie and has been mistaken for her in the past. Maddie has a muscular build and was a karate instructor. She's in love with Colby Lane who is not a member of the group. (No book of her own but has been in 'Once in Paris'1999)
14. MR SMITH: - mercenary, who runs a seafood restaurant in Charleston with Maddie and other mercenaries when not out on jobs. (No book of his own)
15.LAREMOS: - an ex-mercenary who taught Micah his trade. He's Latin looking with dark hair and eyes and graceful movements. He lives outside Cancun on a plantation with his wife and kids. He has the equivalent of a small army around him. ((From the book 'Enamored' 1988)
16.DON: - blonde co-pilot, mercenary and small arms expert.
17. POGO: - a big, dark man from Saint Augustine, he use to wrestle alligators until Micah gave him a job. He is sort of a bodyguard.
18. MAC: - (McPherson) a tall, imposing man, black wavy hair. Took a mortar hit on the last mission and lost his right leg. Has to wear a prosthesis now, so has kitchen duty until he gets use to his new leg.
19.DR CANDLER: - specialist in trauma medicine, chief of staff at a small hospital. He was in medical school with Micah but does not know he's a mercenary. He treats Callie after her kidnap ordeal.
20.MANUEL LOPES: - a small, middle aged man with dark hair and eyes. Drug lord. (No book of his own but been in 'Mercenary's Woman' 2000, 'The Winter Soldier' 2001, 'Outsider 2006'
21.KALID: - small, dark man who works for Lopez. He obtains information from prisoners anyway he can.
22.CARLOS, JUAN, RAMON and JORGE: - all work for Lopez.
23. MRS RUIZ: - looks after Jack Steele when Callie needs help, she does not speak English.
24. MARIA RUIZ: - 16yr old niece of Mrs Ruiz neighbours of Callie.
25.LEO and RAY HART: - local ranchers famous for their love of biscuits. (From the book 'Lionhearted' (Leo's story) 1999, 'A Man of Means' (Ray's story) 1999, also in, 'Christmas Cowboy'1997 'Beloved' 1999, 'Callaghan's Bride'1999)

HEATHER’S SONG

2) Main characters:
Hero – Cole Everett, 33 years old. He has dark hair and gray eyes – his face resembled deeply tanned stone. His life was the enormous ranch he and Heather’s father had built together. Cole has a reputation for being difficult and temperamental. He is a millionaire several times over, and something of a power in Texas politics.
He lives in Branntville – Texas at Big Spur.
Heroine – Heather Shaw, 20 years old. She is a singer and was discovered by Pete Howell a well known Promoter. Heather has platinum hair with soft blue eyes. She used to have a waist length hair in the beginning but she cuts it in a sexy hairdo after her deception with Cole. She also changes her wardrobe. She projects an image of elegance and sophistication, poised as she hadn’t been before, controlled and cool.
She wrote a song called “Sad, Sad Eyes”.
Cole calls her sunflower.
3) Main characters background:
Big Jace Everett, Emma’s first husband and Cole’s father, he died in a riding accident. He was handsome and a very private person. Jason loved Emma completely and never had eyes for anyone but her. Cole is his very image.
Emma Everett Shaw, Cole’s mother and Heather’s step-mother. She married Jed Shaw after Big Jace and Jed’s wife death, because of Heather. She loved her first husband very much although Jed was a comfort to her in her later years, Jason was everything to her. They met each other in a rodeo, he was one of the suppliers, and they married six days later. Emma dies from massive coronary during a family rest trip to Nassau while sleeping.
Jed Shaw, was the owner of Big Spur, he married Emma 2 years after Deirdre death.
Deirdre Shaw, with a frail beauty. She was a very cold person, she liked to tease man and leave them starving. She died of pneumonia and called Tessa to nurse her, to whom she was much doted.
4) Storyline:
Heather Shaw is a singer that after an accident has a voice trauma. Cole her stepbrother goes to her rescue and after a week in their family ranch they go to Nassau in a family trip, when his mother dies in a sudden way he can’t find the truth about Tessa’s lies and send Heather away. Heather already wither voice recovered decide to re-start her career. When Cole’s find the truth about Tessa story.

- Gil Austin, 30 years old. He works as a reporter in Houston and Heather’s best friend there. He has fair hair and green eyes and he is always smiling. He is handsome and sweet on Heather. He first met Heather while doing a feature story on the band she was appearing.
- Tessa Johnson, 26 years old. She is the only daughter a neighboring rancher and a very spoiled one. She has jet black hair and black eyes and impossible narrow waist. Tessa envy Heather in everything and wants Cole and to get him she is capable of everything. Heather considers Tessa her worst enemy, although now Heather is able to defend herself.
- Mrs. Dessie Jones – Big Spur housekeeper. She is a matronly, gray haired woman.
- Bob Andrews, the family attorney. Notoriously forgetful and almost disheveled in appearance.
- Red Rhythm Band, Heather’s new band. It has 5 male integrants, several are bearded. They were a far cry from the clean cut musicians Heather was used to.
Charlie, the band leader. He also plays the lead guitar. He needs a hair cut badly and he has brown eyes. He is also a smoker;
Billy Jackson, he plays drums and has a red hair;
Jackie Blake, bass guitar;
Harry white, second guitar;
Dewey Dan, the new guy. He plays piano and uses thick glasses.
