"Here I look again"
I figure I had such good luck before I am going to try again. I read a harlequin MANY,MANY years ago....It was about a man who really detested the heroine and the wind up sleeping together. He finds out she was a virgin and does not care and tells her this does not mean anything and leaves her apartment. She is devastated. In the end of course all works out.I remember him being some what cruel. I know this is very little information but it is all I remember. I just recall liking the book alot.
Thanks all if it sound familiar

Michelle - Do you remember if this was a relatively thick book (Silhouette IM or Harlequin Presents), or a small book (Silhouette Romance, Harlequin Romance)?
Was the time period 70s, 80s, or 90s?
This has been on my mind since I first read your post, but I need a bit more to research on.
Good luck,
MC

I want to say it was set in the late 70's early 80s.I remember the scene clearly of the man walking out of the bathroom and that she could not believe he was acting like that. It was a regular harlequin If you can help me you are awesome

It sounds like Betrayed By Love by Diana Palmer to me. Alert | IP Printer-friendly page | Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

There is a Carole Mortimer book that could be it. It is one of my treasured (yet musty) keepers. He has just had a divorce finalised (because he is sterile) and he goes on a misogynistic bent, picks up a naive young thing at a party. Afterwards he showers then throws money at her to leave & catch taxi. She gets her revenge years later...
this is the cover.

I'd have to agree that it sounds like Betrayed by Love, which is one of my all time favorite books. Sounds like the scene where he walks out and stuffs a $50 in her towel or the sheet. Later in the book he tells her he wants it back. Nancy B.
