In the long run, it turns out she had once been pregnant by him, but married someone else who abused her, which caused her to lose the baby. I think it was a DP book. Help! Cord Romero and Maggie Barton who were foster children together. It is a very good novel...telling of Maggie's tragic past under her step-father's hands to Cord's painful life...and brings in the some social issues....child slavery. Jody "I hear and I forget.
