"BAD GUYS"
 
Which is the male character you hated most? I mean at the beginning of the stories, often boys are very nasty to girls.

For example, I've just finished reading Heart of stone. Well, I would slap Boone, when he didn't want to take his dog to vet and accuses Keely to use the dog to have a little attention from him.
I've hated him, but just till the snake bite..

Rodrigo was a horse's rearend. But I think King Culhane (Amelia's story) and John Hawthorn (in Magnolia) were running in there neck to neck. Let's face it-there are several that were real jerks (really too tame of a word-more like they were the B word).

I agree with King also. Until Rodrigo, King was the worst in my eyes but I think Rodrigo might beat King out.

Alex Cobb in Man In Control. The way he tortured poor Jody about her appearance and her career choices knowing full well he was responsible. It really ticked me off when he and Margie were talking in the kitchen after he'd made advances toward Jody calling her a quote-bag lady- After throwing his girlfriend Kerry up in her face. Knowing how she felt about him all thoes years. It wasn't hero worship on her part. I really simpathized with her. Then he had the audacity the asked her to help him with a case them invite her to his birthday party out of guilt! What a jerk!!!

I think ALexander already felt something for Jodie when he aked her to "help" on the case and invited her to his party-that's why he got drunk when she didn't come. He pretty much told her toward the end of the book that he only asked her to try and get close to her again-that he could have gotten someone else to help him. But, he was a jerk.

I would say Rodrigo and King and Thorn from After the Music. Ronnie's bat would have came in every handy. But I do love how they all see the light by the end of the book.

I agree Rodrigo was a Jerk but I really want to kick Judd Dunn, Ethan and Kingman Marshall. I was so mad I gave away my copy of Princess Bride and would give away Ethan if it was not part of an anthology.

For me the sad part was I really wanted to like Rodrigo and Judd. I waited a long time for their stories and then I wished I had not read them.

what about Cole Everette from Heather's Song?? I thought what he said to Heather at her concert was very cruel. He litterally tore her to pieces just because he believed Tessa's lie. If it were me, I'd let him walk and never forgive him.

   I haven't read all the books, but I woukd have to agree that several of the men need to be introduced to Tippy's frying pan. If they were just willing to share their true feelings we wouldn't hate them as much, but then that wouldn't make a good story. Now would it?

The list of names of the the others about covers it. Although I was kind of mad at Garon Grier in Lawless for a while for the way he treated Grace. And Also I wasn't to fond of Blake Kemp either in Bossman for the way he seemed to be using Violet for sex. At least that's what she thought. He was commitment phobe because of what happened with Shannon and his father's attitude towards Blakes feelings for her. And then her being poisened by that evil women. my heart whent out to him after I read the whole story. At least him and Violet ended up together living happily ever after. As in all DP's stories.

   I agree! Blake Kemp was horrible! I just finished his book and while I know he had to be in love with Violet in the end I am not so sure about it.

   Just my opinion...ALL or most of the men in her books are jerks users Garon treated Grace horribly,I SOOOOOOOO wanted to SMACK him.

Why is it they are such jerks but as soon as they are going to possibly die the guy realises he "can't live" if she were to die?

   I think almost every guy in D.P.'s books are jerks and cruel in the beginning. It's what makes her books so good. I like it best when the guy starts to realize that he is really in love with the girl and the girl has given up thus making the guy do the chasing. The harder the girl fights against it the better it is to bring them together.

   I agree it does make the storier interesting when there's friction but I think JB and Rodrigo went WAY WAY WAY too far in being mean to the heroines. They were cruel and I would never have let anyone treat me that way!!!

   i really hated Ted Regan(yes, he love her, from the start, or so he said, but he doesn't ever demonstrate it poor Cooreen is alone, poor, hurt, and he insult here againand again...)

   Hi I'm Knew to the board and I Have to say that yes alot of the guys start out mean in the stories, some are even mean all the way throw the book but the best part about each one is that they end up with the woman who can and will tame them. That something I always try to keep in mind. All these lady are fighters and they don't quit no matter what. Otherwise I would get tippy's skillet. LOL.

I forgot about Hank. I can't read their story becuase I want to hit Hank. He kisses his ex wife and treats his wife like dirt. I will add Hank to my list. I still think Cash and Christabel should have ended up with each other. I can't stand Tippy and Judd.

   Hey, I'm new. I would have to say that Dane Lassiter from The Case of the Mesmorizing Boss, was one of the biggest jerks. Dane was never satisfied with anything that Tess did until he found out that she didn't tell him about the baby problems until right when she went into labor and the doctor had to tell him. Still- i couldn't put the book down!

I think the worst was from Lord of the Desert Phillip Sabon and Judd. I would have taken Tippy's skillet to both of them.
