I have a kindle and I just love it. I have had it since last Nov. I read out of it everyday. So far I have only bought books from Amazon
You can go to their site on the computer or on your kindle although when you shop using your kindle it uses a lot of battery power. When you buy a book of which they have about 40 plus Diana Palmer books it downloads to your kindle direct. You don't have to connect the kindle to the computer to download. The technology is similar to how your cell phone worksit called whispernet. They have about 360,00 books and are adding more daily I find the prices are good. It is great to travel with since it takes up very little room.

I LOVE it any more questions just ask also check out amazon

worth every penny.

From what I understand you can only buy books from Amazon. That is what I found out in my research when I looked for ebook readers. Not 100% sure though.

I saw something like it in a ad at Walmart, it was by Sony.

Can someone tell me about memory? how much it has and if you can add more? I am thinking of getting one. It would be great for when you go out of town.

I have a Kindle and love it. I don't know about memory -- it can hold 150,000 books -- do you need more?

i have a sony ebook reader I did have the PRS 505 contrast was good and eay to read and use you can download books from anywhere I am in hte UK and buy quite a few books from the US> I now have a PRS 600 touch screen it has more features than the 505 (being able to increase the font by 5 times and zoom in being the big reason as I dont see well ) however the screen is not a patch on the 505 contrast is very poor due to the touch screen but I have been on holiday with it and it was fantastic to have all my books with me .You can expand the memory but an sd card and a memory duo card up to 13,000 books.
As for the kindle as i understand it you can only buy from Amazon and in some cases the books are more expensive than other places and not always avaiable either hope this helps

You are so right about the Sony eReader. My sis bought the Sony 700 and it didn't come out as nice as the 505 which is the one I have. I use a 16g memory so I have a very large selection books and it's the best gift I had ever received. I'm not big into the Kindle as it gets hot very quickly due to all the new features that was added on. But I would definitely recommend the Sony eReader. They also go down in price too so check the websites online. They have it cheaper online than in the store. Target had it at $250 one time and that was the cheapest I've seen so far for them at the store.

My hubby got the Kindle for me as a Christmas gift. I sent it back. I did not like that I would be limited to order from only amazon. I think is a great idea. i am just going to wait a couple of years before I buy one. Maybe then the war between, the Kindle, Sony, and Nook will be over.
Plus I am in school and I spend most of the day doing classes on the net. I want to touch my book not look at another screen at the end of the day.

My husband bought me a Sony ebook reader the touch edition, for Christmas and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! He also bought 2 16G SD cards to expand the memory. So far I have 116(26 of these are DP's) books on it, and I have not even used 1G yet. I have bought books from Harlequin, The Sony store, Avon books, Allromanceebooks.com, and some publishers. The only place that I have had problems were I can not download books has been from Barnes and Noble, which that I can understand as they want to push their ebook reader, the Nook.
But, one of the other things that I love about my reader is that my books are not in just one place, they are on every account that I have and with the Sony reader they are saved into your library and on your drive on your computer. And I can take all of the books I own with me where ever I go. If I am in between new books I always go back and reread favorites. But, I don't always know what I want in this case it does not matter they are all with me. Well, not all as not all books have been put to in ebook form as yet. But, as this format gets more popular I believe they will start putting more out there.
Hope this helps with information.

Nell
