   I ummmed & ahhed for a while... Cord the loner, losing his vision, or Philipe, struggled in a poor country, landmine injury.

I chose Philipe - his story gives me the warm fuzzies!

   Doh, forgot to add my own to the list! - I did feel for all of the above (and a few others) but had to go with Phillipe.....even though he was terrible to Gretchen!

Tough choice for me. I was torn between Dawson Rutherford and Matt Caldwell. I chose Dawson becuase he had the most emotionally deprived childhood and it affected him as an adult.

   Having to pick one off of the list I would say Phillipe, but lets not forget his landmine injuries happened when he was an adult in which case I think Cag Hart had it pretty rough, what with his mum beating him and smooshing his birthday cake and all. Things like that are pretty hard on a kid.
