"Which"

In all of Diana's books, what is the one moment when your heart breaks and you get that stomach sinking sensation...

For me it's in Lawless when Chrissy hands Judd the ring back and tells him she IS twenty one now and that he had spent her birthday with Tippy I Tear up and my stomach takes a free fall every time I read it!

Cath.

To me it is Carerra's Bride, when Marcus, after he has lost his memory, tells Delia that she is not his kind of woman and that he could never be attracted to someone like her.

mine is when ,in Lawman, Cash calls his brother into his office and tells him to look at the file of the one surviving victum of the lunatic case he is working on and after he sees all the pictures and reads the report he finds out that is Grace and then he has all those flashbacks of him and Grace together and then him being mean to Grace.

I think most of Diana's books have that moment for me.

I have to agree with Amy. There are so many or all of her books that have done that to me. Amelia, Denim and Lace, Lawless, Heather's song, just to name a few.

As Lawless is my favorite DP book the passage Cath picked out is just one of the tear jurkers. There are many others in other DP books and I suppose it is one of the reasons we love Dianas books

I think it has to be "Lawman", when Grace takes Greer scorn and even though her heart is breaking, she has become so strong, she walks away from him and then when Greer finds out what really happens and goes after Grace and she give him back as good as he gave her. I was cheering for Graces.

I think Lawman, just wanted to beat Garon and Heartbreaker, when J.B. was telling Tellie that she was ugly and all the other mean stuff.

For me it's Iron Cowboy. the Part where after Jared and Sara sleep together and he learns he was her first. He then asks her if she's on B.C. traumatized by the whole episode she asks him to leave. Then he gets all sanctimonious and accuses her of seeing him as a meal ticket and says he will take her to court and everyone will see how mercenary she is. I felt so sorry for Sara after all she's been through. Although I have to defend Jared, he thought she was older and had no idea what she'd gone through.

In Renegade, Cash and Tippys first intimate experience. Cash tore me up with his intimate whispers. "Give me a baby, Tippy." "Oh God, Tippy, I want a child!" An then she lost the baby! Pages!!! of that sinking feeling, because you knew she was going to loose the baby.

For me it was in Renegade too. When Tippy trades herself for her brother because Cash doesn't want her and when she loses the baby. Touching stuff if you ask me.

For me Lawless with the ring-Christabel's-when she gives it back and in Renegade when Tippy trades herself for her brother. I also get it with Amelia after King talks to her father and then she gets beaten to within an inch of her life, then can't rembember King.

I think all her books but the one that stands the most in my mind is in Lord of the Desert when Gretchen goes to tell Phillipe that she is leaving him and she kicks the guard, then she accusses him of her being a subsitute and leaves. It kind of gives it a humorous spin but still it is kind of sad.

Yeah that one is hard when he denies that they are married. But the ones in Renegade, Lawless and Lawman are gut wrenching too. I also mention the one in Rawhide and Lace when Erin goes to tell Tyson she's pregnant and he tells her "if you came to see me for another roll in the hay-the cattle can wait for a few minutes...maybe you've improved since the last time" knowing that she was a virgin when they made love and conceived the baby. Needless to say she leaves in tears without telling him about the baby. She then has the wreck and is so badly injured that she loses the baby and basically her modeling career.

I laugh and cry with all of DP books. However, in Lawless (when Christabel takes the bullet that was meant for Cash) and in Renegade (when Tippy trades herself for her brother and takes that awful beating) are the ones that had me crying . I even go back and read both books over and over again. They're my two favorites.

My heart breaks when John (The Australian) tells Priss that she is too young for him, and he doesn't want to marry her just to have sex.
...and she had already bought the wedding dress...

There are so many, but the moments that really resonate for me are the books with health scares. They are so personal yet all of us have been there, too, or had a loved one there.

Case of the mesmerizing Boss.
Lawman "don't you dare die on me, Grace"
The patient Nurse
Rawhide Man (fall/miscarriage)

I can feel the lump in my throat now...

I agree with Amy, all of her books have a moment in it, when I feel like taking Ronnie's bat after the guy. Here a few that stand out though

After the Music
Amelia and Nora

There have been something in everyone I've read so far. But, I think three of mine are Lawless, Lawman and Man In Control, when Boone see's Keely's scars for the first time. I haven't read Cash and Tipp's story yet.

It was Fearless, when Gloryanne overhears Rodrigo and Sarina talking about him not wanting to spend his life with someone plain and frumpy. What a shock he got when he found out who she really was. Served the jerk right.
