"Diana's latest books"
Okay, forget the gaming thing. What about the silly conversations between the characters. One example is when Alice first meets Harley at the hardware store in the Maverick. And the way Alice was always teasing Harley about marrying her. It seems like Palmer did that same bit in another book recently. And Ms. Perry making a joke about Springsteen when someone calls and asks to speak to the boss (Blackhawk)in Dangerous. If I had the books in front of me I could go on and on. It's like all the characters have the same dubious sense of humor. It's just a change in her writing style that evidently appeals to most of you but I miss the old Diana. ![]()

I like the humour in the characters conversations. She wouldn't be much of a writer if she wrote the same way all the time. Of course, she has some "trademarks" (in lack of a better word), but she must evolve a bit over the years. As for the references to gaming etc, that is the way people seem to "relax" these days. I have never liked it myself, but other people do, and I must accept that. I myself hate sci-fi, Diana seems to like that as well, but it doesn't bother me one bit that she has a lot of refrences to that subject. Of course that means I haven't read her Morcai series, and probably never will
We just can't agree on everything, the world would be a boring place if we all liked doing the same things.
I still like reading her books, it's a brilliant escape from real life.
So my prayer to Diana is keep up the good work, there are so many stories yet to be told

All I can say is the only thing about DP's writting that really bothered me was the whole "Daddy Complex" thing. Putting the younger less mature women with these worldly much older men. I just don't feel like a women should have to be paired with these cremudgens in order to say that he was adored once too. But, DP has said that it's the way she writes and we as her fans ought to respect that. Either we're going to continue to support her or we aren't. I for one am going to continue to scoop up her books because she's a wonderful author and we're fortunite to have someone like her in our lives. God bless you Susan. ![]()

Oh yes...I giggle and giggle and then I make a plate of dropped biscuits and serve it with homemade apple butter (made with artifical sugar...since diabetes runs on both sides of my family)
